We are delighted to announce the 7th ECITL Conference which will be held from the 5th – 7th November, 2014 in Dortmund.

More than other businesses, transport logistics relies on innovative Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). For example, ICT enhances logistics stakeholder abilities for active cooperation in supply chains. Also, through the shared and provided set of data, ICT is recognized as the most important enabler for logistics innovation and allows to create and maintain competitive advantage.

As every year, the ECITL picks-up hot future topics in transport logistics and supply chain and provides a platform where experts from industry and research meet and discuss these imperatives. This year, the conference will focuses on how ICT drives transport logistics innovation and cooperation and will deep in topics as intelligent cargo, secure communication in logistics, e-freight common framework, etc. The goals of this year’s conference are to identify and discuss the following main topics.
  • Opportunities and advantages of increased application of ICT
  • Innovations for the future in transport logistics cooperation, which ICT can create
  • ICT as enabler for innovative and green logistics
  • Co-operative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS)

The ECITL is co-organized by the Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences (FHV), the EffizienzCluster LogistikRuhr and the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics and is supported by different European Projects in the field of Logistics and ICT. The conference is an instrument which is supported and encouraged by the European Union.
